Veteran’s Day Salute
Out of the 17.4 Million Veterans, we are celebrating this week, we wanted to share with you one very special one with you all - Meet Eric, aka "RICK Taylor, the Founder of ESTCO Enterprises and a Vietnam Veteran who served just before opening our business in 1970.
Celebrating Veteran’s Day is a monumental commemoration of the hundreds of thousands of men & women who have served in our country, but also, a celebration of Eric “Rick” Taylor, ESTCO Enterprises’ founder. Eric Schram Taylor, “Rick” was born on 1/19/43 in Akron, Ohio. He attended Shimer College in Mr. Carroll, IL, where he met & later married the love of his life, Judy, who is the co-founder of our company today.
As a young man Rick Taylor was dedicated to serving his country. He joined the Marine Corps fresh out of college, successfully completed Officer’s Candidate School in Quantico, Va, & was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.
After attending infantry training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he was sent to Vietnam to serve as a Forward Observer. Upon returning to the states, he proudly served as a Company Commander at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. But it was in the years that followed as a civilian that his respect for his country as a veteran of a brutally fought war deepened.
Throughout his years, Rick was perpetually motivated & inspired by the Marine Corps mantra: THE FEW. THE PROUD.
“Even though we both had good times and bad, I will always be proud to be his daughter, and I will always be proud to have him as my dad, my hero!” - Tristan, Daughter
After retiring with the well-earned rank of Captain, Rich committed his life to his family & the business.
Rick was a great businessman: he learned about the stock market and how to invest wisely. ESTCO was started as its own Company in the early 70’s when he established a branch of his own from Atlantic India Rubber Co.
Our dad, Rick, took a lot of pride in his business for ESTCO Enterprises since founded in 1970 for all that it has grown to be. Shortly before his passing in the hospital, Rick received an honorary award for his service.

To this day, his legacy of founding ESTCO Enterprises demonstrates being among the few & the proud that have made it to 5 decades in existence as a business that serves so many. Let us all honor and celebrate Rick, the Veterans who have served, and all of the few & proud who are leading in their missions every day through business!
